Conceived in 2021, the Daniela Correia Salles Fund offered last year the first scholarships to young pathologists. With the generosity of donors, SBP took Isadora Pêsso and Samya Hadad Mehanna to important conferences in Argentina and Chile. These experiences not only enriched their knowledge and skills, but also allowed the pathologists to share their discoveries and learnings with the medical community.

“Donations are essential to ensure that SBP continues to offer new scholarships in 2024, allowing more residents to have the opportunity to participate in significant events in their area of specialization”, states Dr. Fábio Tavora, coordinator of the fund. According to the pathologist, the entity’s commitment is to support the professional development of pathology residents. “We need the community’s continued support to continue this legacy of success”, he adds.

Intended to pay for scholarships for young pathologists traveling to national and international conferences, the fund was created by SBP in conjunction with Dr. Daniela’s colleagues from Johns Hopkins Hospital. “We appeal to your generosity so that together we can keep alive the memory of Dr. Daniela and her husband, Angel L. Acevedo Jr”, recalls Dr. Tavora. To learn more about the history of the fund and make your donation, visit the link.
